I wanted to share a rice water recipe. Rice water has a lot of benefits, it promotes hair growth, has protein but if your hair is protein sensitive then you can modify this recipe and I will also post a modified recipe for protein sensitive hair.
- Start off with 1 cup natural rice, it doesn’t matter if it’s brown or white rice. Wash your rice and add 1 cup of water in a jar with the rice preferably purified or distilled water.
- You should let the rice ferment for 24-48 hours. I hate the smell of rice water so I add a few orange peels to my rice water.
- After 24-48 hours I put my rice water in a spray bottle and I add 10 drops of peppermint oil along with 10 drops of lavender oil.
Rice water recipe for protein sensitive hair
Follow the same steps for the original rice water recipe but instead of 1 cup of rice use 2 tablespoons of rice and 1 cup of water.
How to use
I used it once a week and co wash my hair after leaving it in for an hr. If you hair is protein sensitive, rice water may not be the best option for you.
